Police-attributed reporting said a 51-year-old Sacramento woman driving a silver sedan crossed into oncoming lanes, hit the median, went airborne, and struck Jury’s eastbound white sedan.

A 29-year-old Patterson man died Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, after a crash at Paradise Road and Shiloh Road west of Modesto. CHP-attributed reporting said a Rivian SUV turned left in front of the man’s eastbound Toyota pickup. His 32-year-old passenger suffered major injuries, while two people in the Rivian had minor injuries.

Driver Arrested After San Jose Highway 87 Double-Fatal Crash

CHP arrested San Jose resident Zachary Chernicky in July 2026 after determining he was at fault in a fiery December 2, 2025, Highway 87 crash that killed Ivana Balistreri, 29, and her 1-year-old daughter Lilliana Martins. Reporting said the four-vehicle crash involved two Teslas, a Lexus, and a Toyota Sienna, and that the victims were passengers in the Lexus.

Motorcyclist Dies After Vallejo Crash on Sacramento Street

A motorcyclist died early Tuesday morning, July 15, 2026, after crashing into an unoccupied parked vehicle in the 2100 block of Sacramento Street in Vallejo. Reporting citing Vallejo police said an officer had attempted a stop for alleged reckless high-speed riding near Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street, terminated the pursuit less than a minute later, and officers were alerted to the crash about three minutes after that.

Pedestrian Killed in Tesla Crash on Capitol Expressway in San Jose

An adult male pedestrian died Tuesday night, July 14, 2026, after being struck by a black 2018 Tesla sedan on Capitol Expressway just east of Copperfield Drive in San Jose. The San Jose Police Department said the pedestrian was crossing outside a marked crosswalk when the eastbound Tesla struck him. Pedestrian Killed in Redwood City Hit-and-Run on Woodside Road

A pedestrian died Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, after a hit-and-run sequence on Woodside Road in Redwood City. Local reporting citing police said a Ford pickup sideswiped a Jeep and drove away. A Jeep passenger exited, approached the pickup when it became stuck in traffic, fell from the vehicle, and was struck by the truck. Police later found the abandoned suspect vehicle, obtained surveillance video, and were seeking the driver.

Keith Barnes, 37, died Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, after being struck by a dump truck at High Street and Coliseum Way in East Oakland. Local reporting citing authorities said Barnes was crossing Coliseum Way from the east side of High Street when the dump truck driver made a left turn from High Street onto Coliseum Way. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated, and police said speed or alcohol did not appear to be factors.
