Fresno County, CA –A devastating head-on collision occurred on State Route 269 in Fresno County, claiming one life and leaving two others hospitalized.
The Incident
In the early morning hours of August 10, 2024, a tragic two-vehicle head-on collision occurred on State Route 269 in Fresno County, just north of Ford Avenue and outside of Coalinga. Around 1:30 a.m., a northbound Tesla inexplicably veered into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with a truck. The collision resulted in the death of a passenger in the Tesla at the scene.
Both drivers of the involved vehicles were transported to Community Regional Medical Center with significant injuries. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the cause of the Tesla’s lane departure, although alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors.
