Monserrat Jimenez Dies After Antioch Hit-and-Run Near Hillcrest Avenue and Highway 4

What Police-Backed Reporting Says Happened

Antioch police responded at about 10:31 p.m. on August 21 to a report of a pedestrian struck at Hillcrest Avenue and the eastbound Highway 4 off-ramp. Jimenez was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

Police said the driver ran a red light coming off Highway 4, struck Jimenez in a crosswalk, hit a center median, and abandoned the Chevrolet Tahoe a few blocks away on Larkspur Drive. Police said speed was a factor in the collision.
