Crash Area
A Pickup Left the Road and Rolled
The California Highway Patrol said the crash was reported just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the 9100 block of Wise Road in unincorporated Placer County. A 16-year-old was driving a Toyota pickup truck west on Wise Road when it crossed the eastbound lanes, went off the road and rolled over on the south shoulder.
A Passenger Was Thrown From the Truck
A 17-year-old passenger was ejected and suffered severe injuries. The driver and a 16-year-old passenger had moderate injuries. All three were taken to a hospital. Because they are minors, their names have not been released.
CHP said drugs and alcohol are suspected to have contributed to the crash. It was not immediately clear whether the driver would face charges.
What Families Should Know
Passengers who are hurt in a crash can usually make a claim against the driver's auto insurance, and when the driver is a teen, that is often a parent's policy. A claim for an injured minor is handled a little differently in California, and a court generally has to approve any settlement for a child. Medical records and the CHP report are the first things to gather.
This article does not make any finding about fault. The investigation remains open.
We hope all three teens make a full recovery.
