Bicyclist Killed at North First Street and Trimble Road in San Jose

What San Jose Police Reported

San Jose police responded at about 4:20 a.m. on September 4 to a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at North First Street and Trimble Road.

Police said a gray 2024 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Trimble Road through a green light when it struck an adult male bicyclist traveling north on North First Street in the intersection crosswalk. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

What Remains Under Investigation

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner was expected to release the bicyclist's identity after confirming it and notifying family. The police investigation remains ongoing, and no final fault finding had been reported.
