Bakersfield, CA – In a tragic incident early Monday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield.

The fatal accident occurred at around 5:12 a.m. on August 5, 2024, at the intersection of East Brundage Lane and Quantico Avenue in Bakersfield. The pedestrian, identified only as a man, was walking southbound outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a white pickup truck traveling westbound.
Despite the efforts, the man succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD).
According to officials, neither unsafe speed nor intoxication appeared to be contributing factors in the crash. The investigation by BPD is ongoing, and witnesses are encouraged to come forward.
