The tragic collision occurred on Friday afternoon, July 19, 2024, around 5:18 PM. The accident took place in the 1800 block of Solano Avenue, involving two vehicles: a 2015 Infiniti Q50 and a 2013 Hyundai Accent, each with only the driver inside.

According to the Vallejo Police Department, the Hyundai was traveling southbound on Shasta Street while the Infiniti was heading westbound on Solano Avenue. As the Hyundai attempted to cross Solano Avenue near Mayo Avenue, it was violently struck by the Infiniti. The driver of the Hyundai was urgently transported to the hospital but succumbed to life-threatening injuries soon after.

The driver of the Infiniti remained at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation. As of now, it is unclear whether the Infiniti’s driver sustained any injuries. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been factors in this collision.
