Two killed In Sacramento Motorcycle Crash

Fatal Motorcycle Accident Sacramento

We are deeply saddened to report a fatal motorcycle accident today that resulted in the loss of two precious lives. Bobby Potts, 41, and Cathrin Nevin, 39, both of Olivehurst, were killed in the early hours of Sunday morning after crashing in northeast Sacramento. Our hearts go out to their families and loved ones during this difficult time.

The accident occurred at around 2:01 a.m. when Sacramento Police officers responded to reports of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Auburn Boulevard and State Route 244 near Winding Way. Workers from nearby Heritage Oaks Hospital were already trying to help one of the unresponsive victims. Sacramento Metro Fire soon after pronounced the male driver and female passenger dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, and it is currently unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role. Preliminary information from the police suggests that Potts was riding eastbound on State Route 244, a short road that links Interstate 80 and Auburn Boulevard, and approached the intersection at an unsafe speed. State Route 244 dead-ends into the parking lot of Heritage Oaks Hospital.

Potts attempted to stop, but unfortunately, the brakes locked up, causing the motorcycle to slide across the intersection and collide with a tree in the parking lot. The impact threw both riders from the motorcycle, causing fatal injuries.
