Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run at Rigoletto Drive and S. King Road
San Jose police said an adult woman died after a vehicle struck her while she was crossing South King Road in a marked crosswalk on September 10. Police later located and arrested the driver.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded at approximately 8:52 p.m. to a hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near Rigoletto Drive and South King Road.
Police said a westbound 2018 Toyota Tundra was making a left turn from Rigoletto Drive onto South King Road when it struck an adult woman crossing King Road inside a marked crosswalk. She was taken to a hospital and later died.
Driver Located After Leaving the Scene
Police said the driver left before officers arrived. With help from the department’s Real Time Intelligence Center and automated license plate reader cameras, officers located the vehicle and apprehended the driver in San Jose.
The driver was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for crimes related to vehicular manslaughter and hit and run, according to police. Those are allegations, and the criminal case remains separate from any civil claim.
