What Police-Attributed Reporting Says Happened

KCRA and CBS Sacramento reporting citing Elk Grove police said the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday on Elk Grove Boulevard near Stonelake Club Drive.

Police said a 51-year-old Sacramento woman in a silver sedan was traveling eastbound, entered westbound lanes, hit the center median, went airborne, and struck an eastbound white sedan head-on.

The driver of the white sedan, Barbara Lee Jury, 78, of Elk Grove, died at the scene. Police said alcohol appears to be a factor and said the surviving driver may face charges as her medical condition improves.

Possible Prior Hit-and-Run Sequence

Police also said the silver sedan driver may have been fleeing from a minor hit-and-run crash about a half-mile away near Franklin Boulevard.
