The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway, where they overturned and came to rest near the north shoulder of westbound Interstate 580.<\/p>\n<p>Police responded after the California Highway Patrol alerted officers to the collision. Both drivers were taken to a hospital. The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau identified the Hyundai driver as Steven Bai Ang Sun, 54, of Dublin. Police said he died at about 2:02 p.m. The Rivian driver was treated and released. No passengers were in either vehicle.<\/p>\n<h2>Investigation Remains Open<\/h2>\n<p>Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors. Investigators had not released a cause or assigned fault.
