According to authorities Ewing left from Alameda to sail to the Philippines in his 30 foot sail boat the \u201cAlma\u201d.<\/p><p>The Coast Guard received a distress signal from the \u201cAlma\u201d around 4:20 am and began their search and rescue efforts with the help of Marin Fire\u00a0Protection District crews.<\/p><p>Rescue crews found the sailboat near the Yellow Bluffs area partially submerged near some rocks. It took crews nearly 24 hours but the body of the missing sailor was discovered by helicopter crews around 6:00 am this morning near the south west side of Angel Island.<\/p><p>An investigation is still underway but Ewing appeared to be the only one on the boat during the accident and no evidence of foul play has been discovered.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
